List of Texas Counties With Mask Mandates

With the surge of the COVID-19 delta variant, Texas has been deemed to be the center of the pandemic due to its high number of cases.

Below, we have compiled the areas of Texas that have imposed mask mandates in any form as of Friday, 8/13/21 at 10:30 am. All information is taken from the Texas Tribune.

SAN ANTONIO AND BEXAR COUNTY

As of Wednesday, San Antonio and Bexar County have issued a mask mandate that requires all individuals – vaccinated or not – to wear masks inside all public buildings.

This mandate comes on the heels of a Bexar County judge temporarily neutralizing an executive order from Governor Greg Abbott to reinstate mask guidelines to help fight the surge.

Under these new orders, the following must wear a face-covering in all county buildings and facilities:

  • All county employees
  • Contractors
  • Visitors
  • Other’s age 10 older
  • There are exceptions for people with medical conditions or disabilities

In addition, county employees have to wear a mask in all situations where it is not possible to maintain social distancing guidelines.

The order also requires Bexar County businesses to post health and safety policies that align with their individual needs. Businesses can mandate that employees, customers, and visitors must wear masks and social distance. They may also establish occupancy limits, screening procedures, and temperature checks.
